Sallie Raymond

Avatar 100

Art has always been important to Sallie Raymond. She painted as a child and teen, graduated
from University of Cincinnati, Collage of Design, Architecture and Art and went on to do store
design and display in Cincinnati and London, England. Upon returning to the United States she
spent several years as a Senior Layout Artist at B.Altman in NYC.
Sallie returned to Cape Cod, the place she loved best. She spent the next 30 years sailing,
running yachts between New England and Florida, running charters around Florida and the
Bahamas and managing marine stores and parts departments on Cape Cod and in
Ft.Lauderdale.
One cannot live on the Cape without being astonished by it’s beauty. The paintings followed.
Sharing impressions of her world became a necessity and translating “her Cape” onto canvas
became Sallie’s passion.
Sallie is an artist member of Cape Cod Art Center, Cultural Center of Cape Cod, Yarmouth Art
Guild, Monday Painters and Wednesday Painters. Her work is shown at Eastwind Studio and
Gallery, Orleans, MA, in the gift shops at Cape Cod Art Center and Cape Cod Museum of Art,
and on the Dennis Green on Mondays in the Summer with Monday Painters.
